NDDC EDP, Adjogbe bemoans activities of fraudsters.
…Warns that all caught, shall face the full weight of the law.
The Executive Director Projects (EDP), of the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), Engr Samuel Adjogbe, FNSE has bemoaned the high rise of fraudsters who go about deceiving and extorting unsuspecting members of the public under the guise of being affiliated to or working in the commission.
Adjogbe who made this revelation in his office while addressing contractors and stakeholders from the region, stated:
‘My attention has been drawn to the acts of certain persons parading themselves to the public as being from or affiliated to the NDDC.’
‘Some even go the length of parading fake NDDC contract award letters to their victims in a bid to deceive them and extort money from them’
‘It is common knowledge that NDDC as a rule of practice, always publishes through its official website or through recognized nationwide newspapers, all Invitations to Tender or Requests for Proposal for any of its available project, schemes, contract or programmes.’
EDP, who condemned the criminal act in its entirety also stated that such acts were only meant to tarnish the reputation of the interventionist agency, NDDC.
He however advised members of the public to always verify any information received, from reliable sources while stating that all perpetrators of this criminal act shall soon be caught and made to face the full weight of the law.
EDP also seized the opportunity to congratulate the acting President of the country, Professor Yemi Osibanjo on his 60th Birthday Anniversary.
‘More strength and wisdom remains my fervent wish to this visionary leader and legal icon on this remarkable achievement ‘ he added.
